truMedic TENS Unit Review and Giveaway

truMedic TENS Unit

The winner has been chosen! Congratulations Kelly, we hope you love your truMedic TENS unit!

Since the start of 2016, I have been studying electricity and its relationship to healing. You can read what we have shared so far in this post. I was thrilled when truMedic contacted us about doing a product review and giveaway for a TENS unit! I knew these types of machines were commonly used by physical therapists, and coincidently my chiropractor had recently added TENS to her practice. I could deduce what the benefits are by how they are used, but I honestly didn’t know much.

Fitness advice circa 1959 from Bonnie Prudden

A friend was cleaning out her family home and ran across this fitness record by Bonnie Prudden. She gave it to me thinking I might be interested in seeing the workout she remembers doing as a kid, along with members of her family. I had never heard of Bonnie Prudden, and when I opened the record, it seemed I had struck gold! A whole workout with pictures, instructions, and advice. The exercise facts below are quoted exactly as found in the album text. Obviously the word choices reflect the year 1959, but over all, the advice still holds up today.

Flax facts for athletes, and every-body. A reminder that flax is still a health food staple!

Don’t forget about this health food staple. Even though it produces the gorgeous little flower shown in the picture above, the glamorous days may be over for flax because chia, hemp, and other super seeds have become popular.

So should you eat it?  If you are an athlete, the answer is yes. Well actually, if you are walking, talking, eating, and breathing, the answer is yes.

In your 20’s and 30’s everything from birth control to cortisol are relevant, not to mention the prevalent issues with health concerns such as fibroids and endometriosis. Want a more effective workout? Picture this: You are sitting on an overhead press machine (image above), or holding two dumbbells and pressing the weight overhead over and over again with the intention of building muscle strength and definition to the shoulder girdle. Questions for Melanie. Are you a Vegan, and how did you get your arms so toned?

After reposting the “trash the dress” photo shoot. I received a few similar questions from readers. I decided it was easiest to answer them in a post.

I’ve seen you write posts about being Vegan. How long have you been a vegan? Almost 20 years

Are you a strict vegan? Not by the most strict vegan standards. I wear leather, I eat honey, bee pollen, royal jelly etc. The only dairy I product I consume at home is raw butter sometimes. I eat as vegan as possible out at restaurants, but with a relaxed approach. I am sure I have consumed some chicken stock or hidden dairy over the years, especially when it comes to birthday cake!
