I’m not going to lie, the Pumpkin Spice Latte has always been a favorite of mine at Starbucks. Lately, however, I have been disappointed in the artificial taste and sweetness of the flavoring syrup. Additionally, you have to wait in line for 15 minutes, and now pay extra for soy milk. I set out to make my own Pumpkin Spice Latte and the results were so much better than the artificial version!
This is a vegan combination of several recipes I found on the internet. It is so easy to make!
1 cup milk of choice
1 tablespoon pumpkin
1 tablespoon Florida Crystals, or sugar
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 shots of espresso, or 1/4 cup brewed coffee
Mix and heat milk, pumpkin, sugar, spice and vanilla in a saucepan over low heat until hot. Pour in espresso and whisk approximately 1 minute until foamy. Pour into a mug and enjoy! (You can also top this with vegan whipped cream and extra pumpkin pie spice).
