Prevention is key. You can’t put a price on your health.

Over the last couple of years my lifestyle has changed a bit. I spend a lot more time sitting at my desk in front of the computer! I soon realized that the crummy office chair I had been sitting on was offering NO support during the long hours spent seated, and being in front of the computer was affecting my vision.

As a personal trainer and yoga instructor, I have worked really hard over the years to keep my clients backs healthy, both from a prevention and rehab standpoint. There are so many tools these days to help keep your body healthy and strong; therefore, I have also maintained a really healthy back. However, I noticed that the time had come for me to purchase some added prevention and support in the form of a new office chair.

Back Support

I knew of Herman Miller chairs because I am a huge fan of modern design and architecture. After reading more about them, I headed out in search of the the Aeron Chair and the Mirra Chair. They both ended up being awesome, but it turned out that the Mirra chair was a better fit for my size so I ordered it with the exact features and colors I wanted.

My new Mirra Chair was over $800.00! Would new shoes, purse, and a spa treatment be a more fun way to spend this money? YES! But I have always put my health first, and never have regretted it.

Vision Support

Around this same time, I also decided to add a vision support supplement for my eyes. I’m the only one in my family that doesn’t need glasses and I would like to keep it that way, so into the monthly budget that went.

The importance of things like buying organic, purchasing high quality supplements, getting therapeutic massage on a regular basis, among others, are all investments to me. The older I get the more I realize you cannot put a price on your health! If you or a loved one have ever suffered through any pain or disease, you understand this concept.

Spend money where you will get the most bang for your buck, and the best return on your investment in relation to your health. Prevention is key! For an additional short post that makes this point in another way, click here.
