Maya’s Sourdough French Toast

My 5 year old developed this Sourdough French Toast recipe all on her own, after watching me make what seems like hundreds of variations of French Toast. It is easy for kids to make on their own, and tastes so good! Any morning my child can cook for me, I am in! Now if only I can get her to do all of the dishes…

Ingredients needed

Serves 2

1 cup almond milk
1 tablespoon Florida Crystals
1 pasture raised egg
Splash of vanilla (probably equal to about 1 teaspoon)
Cinnamon to taste
4 slices millet sourdough bread (we use Sami’s)
Coconut oil (or butter)

Cooking instructions

Mix the first five ingredients until combined. Add bread one slice at a time and coat 10 seconds on each side (my daughter is a cheerleader and likes to use a dance beat when she counts to 10). 🙂

Melt oil or butter in a griddle over medium to medium-low heat. Add bread and cook on each side to desired doneness. Maya likes hers soft and I like mine crispy. Enjoy!
