My husband has perfected this jalapeño hummus recipe at our house. It is so easy to make, and even though the garbanzo beans are from a can, this hummus tastes so fresh. We use it all week long. On crackers, veggies, sandwiches and wraps, it adds just the right kick to any meal or snack.
2 cans Organic Garbanzo Beans
1/3 cup Raw Organic Tahini
2 large Organic Garlic Cloves
1/4-1/3 cup Organic Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice*
10 La Preferida Organic Hot Jalapeño Slices*
1/4 cup Organic Fresh Pressed Olive Oil
1/2 teaspoon Redmond Real Salt*
Drain the 2 cans of garbanzo beans. Reserve the liquid of one can incase needed for consistency preference.
Run food processor and add garlic to chop.
Open food processor and add the remaining ingredients, EXCEPT the olive oil.
Run the processor combining ingredients, once combined and while still running, add olive oil streaming it into the mix. Stop when ingredients are thoroughly and evenly combined.
Do a taste test, any ingredient* can be added to adjust the taste to fit your palate. If texture is tighter than desired, add reserved bean liquid or jalapeño juice one tablespoon at a time until desired texture is reached.
